Role Overview
A full-time Relief Security Officer is required to support Defence operations at a secure facility in Orchard Hills. The position is integral to safeguarding Defence personnel, property, and critical infrastructure through consistent patrols, controlled access, and a professional on-site presence. The environment involves sensitive activities, making discretion, reliability, and a high level of situational awareness essential.
Working within a Defence setting demands a standard of conduct beyond typical security assignments. Officers must be dependable, calm in high-pressure moments, and committed to following established protocols without compromise.
About You
• Australian citizenship is mandatory to meet Defence clearance requirements.
• A valid NSW Security Licence.
• Ability to hold, or willingness to obtain, a Baseline Defence Security Clearance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities, ensuring effective engagement with Defence staff, contractors, and authorised visitors.
• Capacity to remain composed during critical incidents and make informed decisions.
• High levels of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage access control by monitoring and verifying all personnel entering or exiting the facility.
• Conduct routine foot patrols to maintain awareness of activity across the site and discourage unauthorised behaviour.
• Liaise professionally with Defence stakeholders and maintain strong working relationships.
• Respond promptly to alarms, unusual activity, or emergency situations.
• Ensure all Defence procedures, security instructions, and site protocols are consistently upheld.
• Record and document incidents, shift details, and observations in line with site reporting requirements.
