SECURITY OFFICER – LEVEL 3
Location: Gold Coast (Southern Cross University, Coolangatta)
Role Overview
A major education precinct on the Gold Coast is seeking skilled Security Officers to support campus safety and operational continuity. This role suits professionals who combine strong customer service with sharp situational awareness. The position offers an outstanding work location directly opposite Coolangatta Beach.
Two positions are available:
• Full-Time – 76 hours per fortnight (mixed day, evening, and night shifts)
• Part-Time – 28 hours per fortnight (nights only), with additional hours available
Core Responsibilities
• Manage vehicle permits, visitor passes, and general access control
• Conduct proactive internal and external patrols across the campus
• Monitor CCTV, respond to alarms, and support WHS compliance
• Issue and maintain access cards for staff, contractors, and visitors
• Respond to unauthorised access attempts and perimeter alerts
• Operate intercoms and assist with traffic management and screening points
• Liaise with campus stakeholders and escalate identified risks
• Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and supporting security documentation
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Current QLD Security Licence
• Senior First Aid (CPR included)
• Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience in CCTV or control room monitoring (advantageous)
• Strong communication, observation, and conflict-resolution ability
• Reliable, composed, and professional approach in all situations
