Position Overview
We are seeking a Casual Security Officer to join the security team at a leading ASX 100-listed technology company. The role is vital in maintaining the safety and integrity of a restricted data centre environment while providing excellent service as the first point of contact for visitors and contractors.
Shift Details:
12-hour shifts:
06:00–18:00 or 18:00–06:00
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct security screening of personnel entering and exiting restricted areas.
• Monitor alarms, including Class 5, duress, and security portal systems.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, including administering First Aid when necessary.
• Manage keys, access cards, Access Control Systems, and Visitor Management Systems.
• Identify and prevent the introduction or removal of prohibited items from restricted zones.
• Conduct physical (on-foot) and virtual (CCTV) patrols of assigned areas, reporting hazards and incidents.
• Prepare detailed shift reports and ensure smooth handovers to supervisors and customer service teams.
Skills & Requirements
• AGSVA NV1 Clearance.
• Valid Security Licence (Class 1A or equivalent).
• Australian citizenship with full working rights.
• Experience using IT systems for security access and control.
• Strong observational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
• Competency in MS Office and report writing.
• Punctual, reliable, and committed to promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
