Overview
Auburn District Hospital is seeking a capable and confident Senior Security Officer to lead frontline security operations within a busy healthcare environment. This role is central to maintaining a safe, respectful and well-coordinated hospital setting where patients, staff and visitors feel supported.
You will be joining a committed security team within a diverse health network that prioritises safety, collaboration and continuous improvement. The position offers genuine responsibility, daily variety and opportunities to further develop leadership and specialist security expertise.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate daily security operations across the hospital
• Support, mentor and supervise Security Officers to maintain high standards of performance
• Manage incidents, guide responses and complete reporting to required standards
• Oversee and operate security infrastructure including CCTV, duress systems and access control
• Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to reduce safety and security risks
• Work closely with clinical teams, emergency services and hospital management
• Uphold a professional, calm and customer-focused approach at all times
Essential Requirements
• NSW 1A Security Licence
• Certificate II in Security Operations
• Current Senior First Aid certification
• NSW Driver Licence (full or provisional) with a strong driving record
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
• Capability in conflict resolution, situational assessment and incident management
• Experience in customer-facing roles, including traffic or access management
• Ability to work effectively in challenging situations and maintain professional conduct
• Confidence using security and IT systems, with a willingness to develop new skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and meet operational expectations
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on respectful and supportive communication
