Training Facilitator – Security Operations (12-Month Fixed Term)

Our organisation is seeking a skilled Training Facilitator to support security personnel working across multiple Homes Victoria locations in Melbourne. The role focuses on developing and delivering training that strengthens capability, supports compliance, and ensures guards are fully prepared for the operational demands of each site.
Position Purpose
The Training Facilitator will design, present, and review training programs covering inductions, legislative obligations, site protocols, communication standards, incident procedures, and professional conduct. The successful applicant will play a key role in maintaining high performance and ensuring all team members meet industry and contractual requirements.
Core Functions
Create structured induction training and periodic refresher programs suitable for onsite security staff.
Ensure all training content aligns with legislation, applicable Australian Standards, and organisational frameworks.
Work collaboratively with operational leaders to identify skills gaps and recommend targeted learning interventions.
Maintain accurate compliance records, track attendance, and prepare reporting on training delivery and outcomes.
Reinforce best-practice approaches to conflict management, reporting, and customer interaction.
Mandatory Qualifications & Experience
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or an equivalent qualification.
Minimum three years of experience delivering training within the security sector.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance responsibilities relevant to security operations.
Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
Current Working With Children Check (Employee).
Valid security licence, or ability to obtain one, including control room endorsement.
Preferred Skills & Background
Experience in government, community housing, or similarly regulated environments.
Additional qualifications such as Certificate IV in Security Risk Management or Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
